Hilarious

Last night my 3 year old was changing into her pajamas when I noticed her armpit on one arm was brown--really brown (we are super light peachy colored). I was alarmed. Mommy panic button hit and sirens blaring. Are her clothes on too tight--wouldn't that make her skin purple or blue or something? Well, I decided to smell it. It was chocolate. How on earth did she get chocolate in her armpit!?!?!?  I asked her how it got there and she said "I don't know," with that sly little smile of hers. This kid is hilarious. She always does silly stuff. My guess is she stored a chocolate chip in there for later. I wish I could have seen her try and lick it off! I was a mean mommy and made her wash it with a washcloth.

What things have your kids done that have made you wonder--"what on earth!?!?!?"

Happy Wednesday. January is almost gone...

Musings of a Mother of Six

I've heard people say that when you have a baby you lose like 1/4 of your brain cells.  I believe it.  Though, with six kids, that means I've lost my whole brain plus half of someone else's brain.  I still believe it.  I try to help my poor brain with Sudoku and logic problems and cross words.  eh.  Reading too, should help.  So I use my poor moldy brain as an excuse to escape to the world of Hogwarts or some romantic spot in another time and country where kids don't whine and never fight.  What was the point of this post again?...ah...Oh yes. Cameras.  When we moved into this house, I lost my external hard drive with ALL my pictures on it.  ALL OF THEM.  My twins in their blessing dresses, weekly excursions all around the state with the kids, anniversary trips, everything.  I backed some of them up on flikr and some on my desktop.  I kept meaning to buy a bunch of jump drives and put each year's worth of pictures on one (I like to organize.)  I never got around to it.  My brain didn't let me remember to do it and now my brain won't let me remember where I packed that dang hard drive!  So, moral, don't make the same mistake I did.  Back up your pictures!  And then back up your backups.  You'll have fun looking through them as you do it, and so will your kids.  Do it together.  Then, when you're done backing them up, scrapbook them (insert shameless plug) using Prettiful Designs products!

EASY Tip to Improve Relationships With Your Kid(s) TODAY!

Don't you wish you had a hug like that right now?
I wish I remembered to do this easy tip every day. Maybe it wouldn't be as special if it were a habit. I'm not sure BUT I do know that this tip in practice has immediate, awesome effects. Are you READY for my super top secret tip???

***Hug your kid(s) as often as possible today.***Grab them when they walk by, stalk them from behind, cuddle up on the couch while you watch his/her favorite show--make it excessive. If you have teenagers excessive may be one side hug with loads of protestations, but chances are they will secretly love your increased attention!

You may want to add a little note every week or so to your calendar to remember to do this on a regular basis. I hope to hear lots of success stories!

Kidless? Use this on your spouse--I dare you!
Look at this sweet Daddy hug.

Now go and get your hug on! :)
